TEDxPerth 2016

TEDxPerth is an independently organised TED event that aims to be a beacon for all that is remarkable, challenging and thought-provoking in Perth.
The first eight innovative and thought-provoking speakers and performers have been announced on www.tedxperth.org with more to come this week. We’ve highlighted just a few of the inspiring speakers below.

Michael Sheldrick – Social Justice Campaigner
Global Director of Policy & Advocacy at the Global Poverty Project, Michael talks about how to leverage online citizens to real world action. Michael was recently involved in the renowned Global Citizen Festival held in NYC.

Lindsay Miles – Writer & Sustainability Educator
Can sustainable living enrich your life? Lindsay recently completed plastic free July, opening her eyes to the idea that as individuals, we have the power to make a difference with the choices that we make every day.

Professor Steve Winton – Molecular Geneticist
Can a drug cure a genetic disease? Professor Steve Winton delivers a thought-provoking piece on new treatments for genetic disease. 

Natasha Hurley-Walker – Radio Astronomer
Natasha uses radio waves to explore the distant reaches of the Universe. She talks about seeing the universe in a new light.
