Celebrating 50 years of Gifted and Talented Music Education at Perth Modern School this concert will present a range of Choral, Band and Orchestral Music of the highest order which has become the hallmark of the school’s Music Department.
This Anniversary Concert will feature two outstanding alumni as soloists performing with our ensembles.
EMMA MATTHEWS, International and Australian opera star, Emma returned to Western Australia at the beginning of 2018 as Head of Classical Voice and Opera at WAAPA. Emma is relishing being back in WA and has performed extensively already this year as well as undertaking her teaching and mentoring duties at WAAPA. Perth Modern School is absolutely delighted that she has agreed to take part in this concert.
BRENT GRAPES is the current Principal Trumpet player with the Western Australian Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, Brent has just returned to WA following successful stints in Melbourne and Sydney with both the Australian Brass Quintet and the Australian World Orchestra. Brent is very much looking forward to once again playing as a soloist with the Perth Modern School Senior Wind Orchestra.
Over 100 former alumni will also make a reappearance in the 50th Birthday Choir.
