Musica Viva: Reconnect

Sara Macliver, Joseph Nolan and St George’s Cathedral Consort

Sara Macliver, Joseph Nolan and St George’s Cathedral Consort perform Regal favourites by Handel and the Baroque masters that inspire and uplift.

Praised by ABC Classic for possessing a ‘pure, pitch perfect, silvery soprano’ that’s ‘instantly recognisable’, acclaimed performer Sara Mcliver will return to the Perth stage for Musica Viva. Alongside her in this Baroque spectacle is renowned organist and director Joseph Nolan, the St George’s Cathedral Consort and trumpeter Jenny Coleman.

Praised by Gramophone magazine for his ‘towering technique, vivid virtuosity and inspired interpretive insight’, Nolan has built a formidable reputation as both soloist and director. Soprano Sara Macliver will join him in range of vocal showpieces, demonstrating why she’s earned a reputation as one of Australia’s leading Baroque performers. Both will be supported by the St George’s Cathedral Consort, Western Australia’s premier mixed-voice choir, and trumpeter Jenny Coleman.

Ethereal Handel with be paired with powerful Bach, and serene selections from Renaissance masters, in a program of music that will inspire and uplift, as you reconnect with the Musica Viva community.
