Baiba Skride's beguiling violin.

Helicopters cut through the mist in Platoon and Gene Kelly steams up your glasses in An American in Paris. We’re off to the Hollywood Hills for a richly orchestrated concert, cinematic in its scale.

Between Barber’s profoundly beautiful Adagio and Weill’s final melodic symphony lies a musical reunion between Maestro Asher Fisch and Latvian violinist Baiba Skride in Korngold’s lyrical hark to Hollywood. Then we’ll whisk you off to Paris for Gershwin’s irrepressibly jazzy musical postcard to complete this American-inspired program.
