Satellite Nights: Perth Musos Go Digital

Whether you’re a live music aficionado or a casual concertgoer, the widespread cancellation of live music events is, although necessary, hugely disappointing. While you may not be able to gaze down at musicians from a balcony or dance around to your favourite band at a festival, you can still enjoy some amazing live music from home!

Later this month, our neighbours at Government House WA – who you may know from their sensational Music on the Terrace programs – will be performing three virtual concerts at the Melbourne Digital Concert Hall. These concerts, which will be recorded live from Government House Ballroom, will be a part of the new Satellite Nights – Perth series.

Tuning into virtual concerts at the Melbourne Digital Concert Hall is a fantastic way to support musicians who would otherwise be out of work. Tickets are only $24 and $20 will go directly to the musicians you are watching. Not to mention this series is filled with spectacular Perth talent and features a stunning selection of classical music, so each concert is bound to be a magical experience.

Don’t miss out!

Gladys Chua and Ashley Smith in Recital

Wednesday 13 May, 5pm (AWST)

The operatic repertoire would lend some of its greatest instrumental solos to the most lyrical instrument of them all – the clarinet. In this recital, Gladys Chua and Ashley Smith take the clarinet out of the orchestra pit and place it centre stage in an emotionally-charged selection of arias and virtuosic fantasias from the operas of Mozart, Rossini, Weber, Puccini and Verdi.

Bodycoat Gets Galant(e)

Wednesday 20 May, 8pm (AWST)

Alphabetically inclined – at least with that first letter, Ali Bodycoat and Adrian Galante arrive in a mutual admiration society from the gloriously aligned Perth Jazz scene. With a bilateral bond for the greatest songs ever – sung by Barbra Streisand, Judy Garland or even Frank Sinatra, take an hour out, buckle up and try saying no to this trip where Bodycoat Gets Galant(e).
