4 good reasons to go to a concert by yourself

If you’re not used to going out by yourself, going to a concert on your own might seem really daunting, but there are actually a lot of upsides. Plenty of people do it and some even prefer it over going in a group. Here are just a few of the benefits of going to a concert alone.

You have more freedom. One of the biggest advantages of going to a concert by yourself is not having to take into account anyone else’s music taste, schedule, budget, or seating preferences – everything is in your control!

You don’t have to worry about anyone else’s enjoyment. Have you ever gone to an otherwise amazing concert, only to look over at a friend who looks bored or unimpressed by the show? It can totally ruin the experience. When you’re flying solo, the only person you have to worry about keeping entertained is you.

You might meet somebody new. When you go to a concert, it’s safe to assume you’ll be around people with similar taste in music to you, so you might find it easier to strike up conversations with strangers than you normally do. You never know, you might meet someone else who’s there alone too.

It can give you a self-confidence boost. The thought of going to a concert alone is scary for a lot of people but getting used to doing things by yourself can actually be very liberating. Even if you prefer going out with friends, knowing that you don’t have to rely on other people to join you can give you a sense of independence.

So, if there’s a concert you really want to go to but you can’t find anyone else to tag along, we say go anyway! It might not be as awkward or intimidating as you think, and you might end up enjoying it even more.
