"I would teach children music, physics, and philosophy; but most importantly music, for the patterns in music and all the arts are the keys to learning" - Plato
Here at Perth Concert Hall, it has been realised the importance of music education and the strength it gives our community. We believe every person should have a chance in being part of such musical experiences and opportunities available.
According to Harvard Graduate School of Education (2016), exposing oneself to music at any age helps the development of critical and creative thinking, building upon skills and cognitive processes (problem solving, goal setting, and flexible thinking). Music also has numerous mental health benefits (Reach Out Australia, 2017) aiding improvements in mood, motivation, relaxation and increasing brain efficiency and social connections.
The below are up and coming educational and community based musical opportunities presented by WASO and Perth Concert Hall:
- The Rusty Orchestra: Applications for 2018 now available
- Connect Open Rehearsals
- Morning Symphony for Schools
