This annual event raises the profile of music in our public primary schools and this year, culminates with 8 public performances held in Perth Concert Hall.  Since 1993; 52,800 students have sung in the festival and 210 primary school choirs have participated with audience numbers totalling over 102,000 people. The festival has grown from a two concert festival to the 8 concert major public event, with sold out audiences, which it is today.  76 primary schools and nearly 4000 students will be involved in this year’s festival.

This festival supports staff and students by providing valuable Professional Learning with experienced choral directors, mentors and graduate teachers. It supports and encourages the participation of Education Support students and also enriches the school curriculum through choice of repertoire and commissioning of musical works to complement the Australian Curriculum.

Students are given the rare and exciting experience of performing in a massed choir of 450 voices, this year singing well known songs like When I Grow Up from Matilda, Circle of Life from the Lion King and a beautiful medley from The Boy From Oz.  The festival features a number of songs from Australian composers and celebrates their diversity and talent.
